About Me

My name is Alex and I've been teaching VCE maths & physics for more than 10 years. 

Since starting tutoring in 2014 during my first year at uni I have attained three degrees on scholarship (two bachelors, one masters), and I now work full time as an Engineer at AGL Energy. All these years later and I’m still tutoring...

Many of my friends ask me why I still tutor? The answer is simple: because I love it!

I love helping others in an academic environment and I am passionate about the subjects that I teach. 

To me there's nothing as rewarding and fulfilling as knowing that I've made a positive impact in helping my students achieve their goals and reach their full potential.

I have a double bachelor’s degree in Aviation and Business that I completed at Swinburne University on full academic scholarship.

As part of this qualification and having obtained over 200 hours of total aeronautical experience, I received a Commercial Pilots License and several aircraft endorsements including Retractable Undercarriage, Constant Speed Unit (CSU), and a Multi-Engine Command Instrument Rating (MECIR).

In 2016 I was fortunate enough to spend 6 months in Boston (USA) completing business units at Northeastern University as part of an exchange program.

During exchange I came to the (tough) realisation that piloting wasn't something that I wanted to pursue as a professional career. I finished off the double degree and went straight into a masters in a completely different field.

I completed a Master of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at The University of Melbourne with a specialisation in Power Systems Engineering. I completed this qualification under full government and industry sponsorship (commonwealth sponsorship equivalent to ~70% scholarship; and industry sponsorship from AGL Energy equivalent to ~30% scholarship).

I have worked at AGL since 2019. I continue to work full time as an Engineer within the renewables sector.

I have a current Working with Children's Check. 

Valid in Victoria until 27-May-2029.

Since starting in 2014, I've had the pleasure of tutoring 110+ students from just over a dozen local schools. Over this time I've developed and tested an approach that maximises value for each of my students.
